Who is eligible to apply for WAMSCCA Fellowship and Board Certification?
Fellowship is open to licensed medical doctors with at least 2 years of experience in aesthetic medicine. Board Certification requires WAMSCCA Fellowship (or equivalent), with a minimum of 5 years of active aesthetic practice and submission of an advanced clinical case portfolio.
Are dentists (BDS) eligible to apply?
WAMSCCA primarily accepts applications from medical doctors (MBBS and above or equivalent). However, dentists (BDS or equivalent) may be considered for Fellowship in Facial Aestheticsonly if facial aesthetic procedures are legally permitted within their scope of practice in their country or region. Applicants must submit proof of legal eligibility (e.g., local license, government circular, or regulatory approval) as part of the application.

How are the examinations conducted?

Is the certification valid for lifetime?
WAMSCCA certification remains valid as long as the practitioner holds a valid medical license and complies with any recertification or CME/CPD updates that may be introduced.
What happens if I fail the exam?
Candidates who do not pass may re-attempt the exam after a mandatory cooling-off period (typically 15–60 days), with a re-exam fee applicable.
